Have your pet photographed professionally for long-lasting memories of happy times!

This can be done at your home, in your garden or a local park or your chosen venue – dog agility shows or equine events can also be catered for. Call me, Ian Harrison on 07899 671 710 for an informal chat about your options.

Fair weather is best of course but as there is no control over the rain should the pre-determined day be pouring down it will not make ideal photos, wet pet and wet photographer! Re-scheduling to a better suited day is preferable.

If you want to be included on the pictures there is no problem with this but please remember what you are wearing will show up – which does not necessarily fit with muddy dog-walking.

If your pet can do any ‘tricks’ I will discuss in advance and plenty of acceptable treats, biscuits etc to hand will be the order of the day to reward your friends good behaviour.

I have two state-of-the-art SLR cameras, one is high-resolution and the other is designed for low light such as arenas and is capable of shooting 12 frames per second – very useful for action shots. All final images will be edited and cropped before you view. Your pet is typically better photographed at their level rather than looking down on them – I will bring something to kneel on for this purpose!

Depending on how you wish to view the images, on a TV, on a portable device or simply in paper book format the aspect-ratio of the finished pictures will be married to your requirements. For example, a smart TV will display in 16.9 which is not as tall as a conventional A4 sized book – you will end up with black sections to the left and right when viewing. The aspect ratio will also affect the framing of the shot and can inhibit cropping if required so establishing these parameters upfront will pay dividends – all I need to know is what you will be viewing on and the make please. Whilst technically possible you will not get the maximum benefit of a good resolution if you view the pictures on a phone – some smart TVs will send images to your phone via Smartlink software which might be built-in to the TV.

All of this ‘technical stuff’ is something I will worry about and not you!

The initial ‘shoot’ lasts for up to one and half hours and typically I will take several hundred pictures and select / edit these down to 24. Samples of formats, ways of displaying photos and a photo-book will be shown to you after the session and proofs will be available online via a private access which is provided by email. Depending on the format chosen it may involve the ordering of pictures or prints as they will be produced to lab-quality standards, I do not print anything myself.

There are example photos and a slideshow on my website which is: www.ianharrison.photography, email is: info@ianharrison.photography
